We wanted the kids to celebrate New Years Eve and ring in the new year... so at 9 PM our time, they rang in the New Year - as it came to the East coast. Ah well... someday they'll get to stay up later! When I was young, we spent New Years at my Auntie Jeannie's house. At 12 AM, we'd bang on pots and pans and the older boys would shoot their guns outside (we lived in the country, on acreage). This year our kids got to try part of that... the banging on pots and pans!
