It's in the storms of life that the things that mean a lot to a person are made vivid... it was such a weekend for us in July. We were up at the Randall cabin when Travis got the call from the dermatologist's office that his mole was actually melanoma. We cried together and then we gathered our little family together and just made the most of each moment - biking in the Mt. Hood forest, building forts out of a tarp and sticks, rides in the wagon, throwing rocks in Still Creek, meals together, prayers together. Life continued on in spite of a diagnosis and fear of what lay ahead of us. As hard of a weekend as that weekend was for both Travis and me, I will always cherish the fact that we were together when we needed each other most. I will always cherish the joy the children brought to moments where fear crept into our souls and knocked us flat. Praise God for these little love-bugs!
